When you provide this diagram of following extension are you provided with a powerled so you can check that you have power when you connect the OBDII connecor within your car. Use pin16 for the +12V and pin4 or 5 for the ground. The best thing you can do is to foreseen a switch between both pins because some cars use the signal ground (pin4), and others the chassis ground (pin5), ...! Software and activation (for free!!!)
The software (freeware version) that fits perfectly with the interface can you download from following siteVAG-COM. When you want to use the whole functionality of this program do you need an activation of the software. Even though, you need to pay for it.
